Weekend in Cali

We just spent 4 days in San Clemente, California visiting our friends Tom and Hege, and their girls Sofie and Helena.

Luke and Helena enjoyed the community golf cart...

Tom grew up in San Clemente, so he always knows the local gossip...

The two dermatologists stayed pretty well covered up on the beach, which is a sweet 5-minute walk from the house...

California Girls Sofie (the sweetest 10 year old ever) and Helena (the friendliest 15 month old ever) were great playmates for Luke and Anna...

Unfortunately not photographed were: Keith's participation in Tom's Sunday group bike ride, a farmer's market outing, excellent dinners and wine courtesy of Tom and Hege, pool time, beach volleyball at sunset, a visit with our San Diego friends and their newborn baby girl, lots of laughs, and plenty of time to see, hear, and smell the ocean--a rare treat for us land-locked Utahns. Good times had by all.

Oh, and Luke is becoming quite the seasoned traveler. When we arrived at the airport to check in and check our bag, he sat on the floor and started taking his shoes off (like, for security), while saying "shoes off...shoes off..." We had to tell him to wait until we actually got to the security line. And when I just told him that we're going on an airplane again this weekend, he said "seat belt on for take off." That was a major point of contention on our last two flights. I think I'll bribe him with a lollipop for our upcoming flight to Maine ;-)
