Family Hike

Like much of the west, Utah has been sweltering in 100+ degree heat for the last week. We escaped up to the cabin, where it's always 20 degrees cooler than in the valley.

Lots of Legos

Last week I didn't manage to post photos from Luke's birthday weekend. Life is busy so my updates may not be as frequent as they once were... sorry about that.

Anyway, here are a few photos from Luke's special weekend. 

Here's one of a few Lego sets that he received. You can see how excited he is. He loves those Lego sets!...

 This dapper outfit was from Tom & Hege, our fashionable friends who hail from Southern California... incase you couldn't tell...

 We had cake at the cabin. I forgot cake candles, so we put two votives on top of the cake...

 Guess what - it's another Lego set! He built this vehicle in about 20 minutes all by himself. He's pretty good at putting these things together!

He had his official birthday party at Jump Around Utah (warehouse full of bounce houses, etc) with two other friends, whose birthdays were the same week. One of the other Moms captured some good photos so I'll post those at some point when I get them from her.

3 Months

Claire turned three months old yesterday. And look at this smiling face!

This was a contender for her official 3-month old photo (love the big eyes in this shot), but I had to go with the smiley one.

Four, Knocking at the Door

When we wake up tomorrow Luke will be 4 years old. Well, not really since he was born at 9:19 pm Central Time, but it will be his 4th birthday none the less.

I can't believe it. 

Tomorrow will also be my parents' 44th wedding anniversary. I know they'll never forget sitting at Cafe Ba Ba Reeba in Chicago, toasting their 40th and awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild :)

Here are a few of my favorite favorite photos from his first week...(not in chronological order; for some reason it won't let me post them in the correct order)...

 At two weeks old, we packed up our Chicago apartment and drove to Vancouver, BC. Here's Lukey in our empty apartment at 644 W. Willow St. in Lincoln Park--a place that will always hold great memories.

New York

Keith and I traveled to New York last week to attend a baby-focused trade show for Little Cord Art. We just took Claire, while Luke & Anna stayed in SLC with Bill and Brigitte. The show went really well and we had a good--though brief--trip.

 Claire was the hit of the show (even the show organizer said so). Everyone was oohing and aahing over her and I think some people only stopped at our booth to check her out!

 She even enjoyed the plane ride!

Let the Summer Begin!

The pool is open and I suspect we'll be spending a lot of time there this Summer!

B&B

We had a good time while Bill & Brigitte were in town last week. 

Grandma Brie had Claire smiling and cooing up a storm with her songs and funny faces...

We cooked some nice meals... here are Keith & Bill doing a shrimp scampi...

We went to the cabin a couple of times and Keith found a neighbor to help him tune up the snow cat...

 Luke and Anna got hair cuts, though you wouldn't know it from this photo...

 Last Friday Declan arrived from Geneva to spend a week with us shadowing different doctors at Keith's hospital. He has also been a great big cousin...

 15 years old and 10 weeks old...

 We have a great swing in our backyard at the cabin. Here's Luke swinging, while Declan lounges in a really high hammock-like rope web thing in the background. He said it wasn't made for comfort...

 The landscape up there keeps changing as the weather warms up. The aspens should bloom really soon...

 Bill enjoyed a brief cat nap at the cabin, yet managed to not spill his beer :)
