I was looking up property tax info on the SLC assessor's website, and for our house they included this original photo:
The house was built in 1939 so it's probably from that year, or possibly the early '40s. The bottom half of our house is brick now, so we're guessing that it originally had shingles (or wood siding?) over the brick, which was later removed...? Considering that there are other houses bordering us in every direction now, it's neat to see it alone like this. It must have been one of the first ones on our street. The first thing that comes to mind is, with all of that space, why couldn't they have carved out a larger lot and built a bigger garage!?!
At any rate, history is cool.
