My First Garden

A friend of mine is a master gardener and wrote up a garden plan for me this winter because I really, really wanted to plant my first ever vegetable garden. Her instructions were clear, but I was still doubtful that I'd actually do everything correctly.
Well, almost three weeks after planting the seeds (and a couple of strawberry plants), things are actually sprouting!!
I planted the following: mesculun lettuce, arugula, spinach, carrots, zucchini, broccoli, and swiss chard. On the left sits a box of 2 kinds of basil, cilantro, and a variety of different tomato plants, which I'm planning to plant in a separate raised bed soon.
I'm really excited about being able to cut my own veggies for dinner, as well as about teaching/showing the kids where real food comes from.
